More About "Your DIY Rescuer" ..."Let’s Finish It” is a residential construction company that focuses on home renovation projects in the South Okanagan Region of BC. Let’s Finish It is not only a home renovation business, but an educating one as well. With over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, along with being a sole proprietorship, Let’s Finish It has identified a unique advantage over other home renovation companies in the area. This advantage aligns with a growing niche market across North America which focuses on today’s Homeowners who are undertaking more and more “Do-It-Yourself” home renovation projects. Homeowners that do their own home renos (DIY’ers) often run out of time and/or knowledge to finish the project they started. This is where Let’s Finish It steps in as “Your DIY Rescuer”, working alongside the Homeowner and teaching them the skills needed to complete the job, or at the Homeowner’s request, simply finish the project in a timely manner and exceed their expectations in the process.
The advantage that Let’s Finish It has over the competitors is the professional service of one-on-one team work with the Homeowner. Let’s Finish It will assist the Homeowner on how to start their renovation project, help identify what materials and tools they will need, and then offer step by step follow up and assistance throughout their entire project. Along with this unique educational hands-on assistance, Let’s Finish It offers flexible hours (including evenings and weekends) working around the Homeowner’s regular schedule and existing commitments. Another valued service is as little disruption to the household as possible, so that the entire home doesn’t become an active construction work zone. In helping the Homeowner with their project, Let’s Finish It will provide knowledge to give them the confidence to do more, time to give them more freedom, and sanity that the project will get finished. Let's Finish It is "your DIY rescuer". Testimonials

To Whom It Concerns: Jay Mallach built 2 kitchen cupboards in the heritage house we own in downtown Penticton, the oldest house in the city, dating from around 1892, on its original foundation in the original town site core. Because of the uniqueness of the house and the need to blend the cupboards into the original wainscoting, a design challenge had to be met. Jay’s work was exemplary—he used wood that matched the profile of the wainscot, stained it to match the original window frames that had been stripped of paint in the our renovation work and used heritage look hardware to complete the total effect of the new cupboards looking as if they had been there since 1892. Taking extra care not to do any damage to the wainscot trim, he fashioned the cupboard frames around the trim and also fashioned a hole for a fridge that had to be plugged in within the cupboard (since it covered the outlet). The shelving was even of the wainscot wood so that upon opening, the heritage feel was intact. In the bedroom he built a closet, taking the same care as he did with the kitchen cupboards, resulting in the heritage, always- been- there look. As well, he built a shoe rack of his own design that fits perfectly in the small bedroom space allotted and provides much needed storage that was not there before. He was easy and fun to collaborate with on design needs, provided a written quote that proved accurate, his pricing was fair, was prompt on the job and completed the work in a timely manner. We will be meeting with him this fall to discuss some work we are considering at our home at Apex: 1. Reconfiguring the downstairs into a lock-off rental suite. 2. Adding trim to door and closet frames. 3. Installation of 2 new bathroom sinks and taps. 4. Making a door in the sun porch addition to access an inaccessible part of the deck. We have used a number of carpenters for our renovation needs over the course of 15 years and 3 houses --- all have been good. We would, however, choose Jay over the others because of his attention to detail, promptness on the job and completion thereof, fair pricing, his skill set as a finish carpenter and his congenial personality that makes working with him a pleasure.
